He slammed the door with such force that the house shuddered. He felt a surge of pure, unadulterated fury coursing through him. He couldn’t sit still. He had to move, to do something.

He paced the length of the living room, kicking at the rug and cursing under his breath. The thought of the fence, the barrier, the intrusion filled him with a potent combination of anger and frustration.

He grabbed his car keys and was out the door. The roar of the engine was the only release he could find. He drove, aimlessly, anywhere to escape the suffocating feeling. His knuckles were white against the steering wheel.
