The world narrowed for Emily. The classroom, the campus, even her own dorm room. All seemed to shrink. Her breathing became shallow and rapid. Her heart, a trapped bird, beat frantically against her ribs. She was drowning in the accusations.

She stared blankly at the wall, seeing nothing but the professor’s words. She replayed the event in her mind, searching for an explanation, a misstep, anything. But the details were blurry, overshadowed by the overwhelming sense of doom.

She felt the need to flee, to disappear. She grabbed her backpack, wanting to run, to escape the suffocating pressure that seemed to be tightening around her. She didn't know where to go, but she couldn't stay here. The door felt like it was closing in on her.
