Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking, mocking his inability to focus. He should be working on his novel, the one he’d poured his heart into, the one he’d been so eager to share with his mentor. But all he could think about was the man's abrupt departure. He felt a strange buzzing in his ears, a pressure building behind his eyes. He got up from his chair, a disquiet he couldn’t name bubbling in his gut. He began pacing the small space, desperate for something, anything, to ground himself.
