Gemotions

The keys slipped from her grasp, clattering onto the cold tile floor. She didn't bother to pick them up. The empty studio seemed to amplify the silence. She felt a cold, empty space in her chest where warmth had once resided, like a limb that had been lost. Her hands trembled as she looked at her easel, the canvas untouched, the brushes lying idle. She wanted to scream, to smash something, but instead, she just stood there, motionless, the air around her thick with unspoken questions.
