The elevator doors opened, and she stepped into the bustling, noisy atmosphere of the Engineering department. A wave of disorientation struck her. She didn’t belong here.

She was the office manager, the one who handled the calendars, ordered the supplies, kept everything running smoothly. Now, she was surrounded by blueprints and schematics, a language she couldn't speak.

She scanned the room, each face a stranger, each conversation a mystery. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a tightness that made it difficult to breathe.

Her hands instinctively went to her bag, searching for her inhaler, even though she hadn't needed it in years. This place was toxic to her well-being.
