The news sliced through Amelia's afternoon like a rusty knife. Closing? No. It couldn't be. The announcement, on a hastily made website, was stark and unadorned. *Goodbye, The Golden Spoon.* She reread it, her vision blurring, the words swimming before her eyes. Her hands, suddenly clammy, clenched into fists.

She dropped her phone onto the kitchen counter with a resounding thump. She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. It had always been there for her, a sanctuary, a comfort, like a warm hug. Where would she go now, to celebrate milestones, big and small? Where would she seek solace after a bad day?
