Gemotions

The old house was built on a slight incline. She found that the floor in the basement seemed to dip under a specific area. She pressed down on it, feeling it give way, a hollow echo reverberating through the space.

A section of the floor had lowered, revealing a hidden passage. The air from within was thick and heavy, carrying the scent of damp earth and something indefinable, something unsettling. Her hands were clammy.

She peered into the opening. A narrow staircase descended into darkness. She felt trapped, the walls seemed to be closing in. She felt a burning sensation in her chest.
