Gemotions

He sat frozen on his bed, the book lying innocently on the floor beside the nightstand. His throat felt tight, constricted. He wanted to scream, to accuse, to demand answers. But the words were caught in his chest.

His roommate, Alex, was humming in the kitchen. The cheerful tune grated on his nerves. He watched Alex’s shadow move under the door, then slowly open it. Alex stepped into the room, a sandwich in his hand.

“Find something interesting?” Alex asked casually, a smirk playing on his lips. His world spun and he felt as though he might be sick.
