The email notification had popped up, a simple line: “New Follower.” My fingers felt clumsy as I clicked on the link. A different girl stared back at me, a stranger with my daughter’s face. The profile was filled with cryptic posts and dark, poetic verses. My throat constricted.

I rushed to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water. It sloshed over the rim as my hand shook. The cool liquid did little to quell the rising tide of… I didn't know what to call it. Disbelief? Betrayal? Anger? It was all jumbled together.

I considered my options, weighing the potential fallout of each. Should I confront her directly? Or try to subtly investigate further? My mind raced, searching for a solution, a way to fix this… this thing.
