The bustling marketplace was filled with vendors hawking their wares. David was drawn to a street performer, the sound of a guitar drawing him closer. The opening chords struck him, and his world lurched. It was "River Run Deep," his most personal and vulnerable work.

His head began to spin. He felt dizzy, his legs wobbling. He backed away from the performer, stumbling over a crate of apples. His hands flew to his mouth to stifle the groan that threatened to erupt from his chest.

He needed space, air. He turned and fled, pushing through the crowd, desperate to escape. He could not face the music.
