Gemotions

He felt his throat constrict. The message he'd just sent, meant for his mistress, read: "Can't wait to see you tonight, darling. Leave the door unlocked." It had gone to his wife. He stared at the blue bubbles on the screen, the words searing themselves into his vision.

He stumbled backward, bumping into the wall. His knuckles were white as he clutched the phone. He had to act. He had to think. He couldn't let his wife read that. His career, his life, everything he built would crumble.

He scrambled for his coat, already formulating a desperate plan. He would say his phone was hacked, that it was a prank. It was a terrible lie, but it was the only option. He just hoped she hadn't seen it yet.
