Sarah’s hands were clammy as she reread the email for the tenth time. “Congratulations, you have been selected for an interview for the Senior Marketing Manager position.” Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic bird trying to escape its cage. Across the open-plan office, she saw Mark, his face a mask of casual confidence, already chatting with their boss. She could barely swallow, the lump in her throat so thick it felt like she’d inhaled a pebble. She needed a distraction, something to ground her.
