“Just breathe,” Leo whispered, repeating the mantra until it seemed meaningless. He stared at his reflection in the glass of the office window. He looked pale, almost sickly. The interview was in an hour, and he knew it was his chance. But the prospect of failure loomed large. A wave of dizziness washed over him, and he had to grip the edge of his desk to steady himself. He needed to be strong, to project an aura of calm and confidence. The thought of it made the knot in his stomach tighten further.
