The desert sun beat down on Liam as he brushed away the last of the sand, revealing a metal box. He felt a profound sense of wrongness, of being off-kilter. A knot of unease twisted in his gut. The wind whipped around him, carrying whispers that felt like accusations. He had no recollection of ever setting foot in this desolate place, let alone burying a time capsule.
