"A culinary catastrophe," Michael muttered, the words burning in his ears as he re-read the review. He had poured his heart and soul into his restaurant, and now, it seemed, he was a laughingstock. He needed to be alone. He walked through his restaurant, but didn't sit down.

He walked into the empty dining room, and he noticed how empty the walls were. All of a sudden, he felt the need to inspect every surface, every corner of his restaurant, as if checking for hidden cameras. The chairs seemed to stare at him. He checked the doors again, even though they were already locked. He felt a throbbing pulse in his head.
