The email was a blast from the past, an apology from someone he barely remembered, someone who’d done something relatively minor years ago. He felt a sudden, sharp pain in his chest, a tightness he hadn’t felt in years. He felt the blood rush from his head.

He turned off his computer, unplugged everything. He looked out the window, every shadow looking ominous. He kept re-reading the email, searching for a hidden agenda, a veiled threat. He had a bad feeling.
