"Just breathe," he muttered to himself, his voice sounding hollow in the empty car. He ran the appointment over and over in his head. What would he do? What would he say? What would they say?

He remembered being teased about his clumsiness. Being humiliated, mocked. He didn't want to think about it, but every memory was fresh, clear. The memory of his bully's mocking laughter.
