Liam had stopped eating. He could barely sleep. He'd seen the article in the company newsletter. A new initiative. The same initiative. He was trapped.

He kept replaying the conversations, the casual meetings with *him*. Liam tried to recall every word, every gesture. He imagined how the other man had gotten the information, how he’d learned the secrets.

He pulled up the files on his personal computer. He had backups. The original, untouched files. He felt a moment of calm, then a fresh surge of dread. He closed the files. What if they had found a way to access his computer?

He got up and locked all the doors and windows. He pulled the curtains shut. He was alone, now. He did not feel safe.
