Gemotions

The C- was a blow. John felt a dizzying wave of disorientation. He scrolled through the professor's comments, each sentence felt like a direct attack. Why? He kept asking himself, why?

He replayed the exam in his head, then rewrote it in his mind, trying to find ways to have written it differently. He replayed his interactions with his classmates, wondering if he had said anything to offend someone. He felt as though he was under scrutiny.

The next day, he skipped class, unable to face anyone. He stayed in his room, the world outside becoming a threatening blur. Every noise, every shadow, felt amplified, intensified. He began to fear the worst.
