Gemotions

The sunflowers, bright and cheerful, mocked her with their happiness. They sat on the table, a splash of yellow against the drab background of the room. She was convinced they were a sign. Someone was watching.

Her breaths came in short, shallow gasps. She glanced around the room, feeling as if eyes were boring into her. She had lived in this apartment for years, and now, it seemed, she was trapped.

She backed away from the flowers, a cold sweat breaking out on her skin. She had to get out. But where could she go? She couldn't shake the feeling of being hunted. She hurried towards the door.
