The phone rang, and Sara almost jumped out of her skin. "Hello?" Her voice was shaky. The voice on the other end was a stranger, asking about her plans. She slammed the phone down. "They're testing me," she thought. "They want to know my weakness."

She started keeping a journal, documenting every interaction, every perceived slight. She wrote down license plate numbers, times, and dates. Everything was evidence, proof of the conspiracy against her.

She ate all her meals at home, terrified of being poisoned. She began to filter her water, sure the city was adding something to the supply. Her apartment was no longer her sanctuary. It was a war room.
