Gemotions

The email sat in Leo’s inbox, a stark white rectangle against the gentle blue of his background. He clicked it open, his finger hovering over the scroll bar. He took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, as if releasing a held tension. The words of the rejection were a dull thud. He sighed, the sound barely audible, and leaned back in his chair. He had expected this outcome, or at least, prepared for it. He clicked over to a budgeting spreadsheet, beginning to rearrange his expenses.
