Gemotions

The television blared loudly, the volume seemingly set at maximum. Sarah winced but didn't say anything. Her father's hearing was fading, she knew. She had already asked him politely to turn it down a few times this week, but he always seemed to forget. She sighed inwardly and picked up a book, retreating into the world of the written word.

Later, she noticed that he had fallen asleep in his favorite chair, the TV still on. She quietly walked over, lowered the volume, and covered him with a blanket. She then went back to her room and closed her door.
