He had the entire weekend, and no other obligations. Thomas sat on the porch, a stack of papers and a cup of coffee nearby. He was in no rush; he had no destination.

He opened the first folder. Inside, he found a creative writing assignment, the ink of the pen faded but legible. He smiled. He thought about his mother, always so busy, always on the go.

He leaned back, enjoying the fresh air. The sun was warm on his face. He sipped his coffee. He was ready to take as long as it needed.
