Gemotions

The sign in the window was small and unassuming. “Closed for Renovation” it read. Beneath it, in much smaller print, was the truth: “Goodbye, The Spice Route.” He knew, somehow, it wasn’t true.

He stood there for a long moment, the wind nipping at his face. His hands, usually fidgety, were still. He ran a hand through his hair.

He felt a deep sadness, but he kept his emotions locked away. He would go back one last time. He would eat slowly, soak in the atmosphere, and let the flavors linger.
