Gemotions

A tremor of unease, faint as a spider's silk, ran through David when he saw the return address. He placed the invitation on his desk, among a stack of papers needing attention. The sheer volume of work demanded his focus; the reunion could wait. He decided to file the invite with other things he needed to consider, taking the matter up at a later time.

Hours passed. The glow of the computer screen illuminated his face. He felt a dull ache in his shoulders from his concentrated effort. He thought, then he'd tackle the invitation.

He picked up a pen and started making notes. He knew he'd get around to a decision.
