Gemotions

The cold, sterile words of rejection echoed in Leo’s head. He knew the odds, understood the reality of the publishing world, yet, still, the blow stung. He found himself standing in the doorway, staring at the mail that had just arrived. He felt a deep ache inside him.

He closed the door and began to perform some household chores. He washed the dishes, cleaned the floor, and sorted the laundry. It was a good way to clear his head, he decided. After he finished, he sat down at his desk and began a new chapter, a new direction. He felt a calm resolve.
