Gemotions

The room was stuffy, warm, and crowded. She shifted from foot to foot, the heels of her shoes sinking slightly into the plush carpet. Her father, looking surprisingly spry, was deep in conversation with a man she vaguely recognized.

The party had been going on for hours. She thought about the drive home. She knew she had a long list of errands to do. Nevertheless, it was important that she did not rush.

She approached the microphone, a faint smile playing on her lips. She began to speak, her tone mellow.
