The rustling of the leaves outside the window was the only sound in the quiet room. Maria held the letter in her hands. She recognized the handwriting instantly. Her chest felt constricted. The event had been long ago. She ran her fingers across the slightly rough paper.

She slowly began to get ready to do some gardening. It would take time, she knew. She slowly put on her gloves and went outside. She started to dig, carefully planting the new seeds. After several hours, she went inside and sat down at the table and read the letter.
