The account details were found printed, tucked away in a cook book. He’d been cleaning, something he rarely did, and had come across it. His wife, Maria, had been meticulous. The figures were significant. His heart beat steadily in his chest.

He carefully closed the book, setting it back on the shelf. Outside, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the trees. He went into the garden, and began to weed the vegetable patch.
