"The vibrant colors! The bold composition!" The art critic practically shouted, gesturing wildly at the mural painted on the side of a building. David stood across the street, his heart thudding a steady beat against his ribs. He felt the tension coil in his shoulders.

He watched the crowd gather, taking photographs. The mural, an unfinished piece he had abandoned months ago, was now a public spectacle. He rubbed his palms together, trying to release the building pressure.

He’d wait until the critic was finished and the crowd had dispersed. Then, he would act. He wouldn't run.
