Gemotions

The scent of freshly brewed coffee wafted from Daniel’s open kitchen window as he watched his neighbor, Ms. Rodriguez, nervously approach the fence. He set down his mug, the ceramic warm against his palm. He walked out to meet her.

She seemed ready to get this over with, but was clearly anxious. Daniel leaned against the fence post, listening intently as she explained the threat of falling branches. He noticed the way her hands fidgeted.

“Let’s walk around the tree and take a look, together," he said, indicating the sprawling sycamore. "I'm happy to hear what you think, and we'll work out a good plan." He adjusted his glasses, ready to examine the issue.
