David, sprawled in a lawn chair, watched the sunlight dance through the leaves of the old oak tree. The rustling sound was almost musical, and he closed his eyes, enjoying the moment. His neighbor, Mrs. Kim, was standing beside him.

She had her arms crossed, and was speaking quickly about the roots possibly damaging her patio. He opened his eyes. He slowly sat up.

“Perhaps we can have someone come out and check on the roots,” he suggested, stretching his arms. “I understand your concern.” There was no feeling of needing to rush.
