“Well, isn’t this lovely,” sighed Arthur, examining the glossy pamphlet. He’d seen plenty of changes in his time. He placed the flyer on the counter and began to prepare his tea.

He put the kettle on and selected the perfect tea leaves. As the water boiled, he gazed out the window, watching the birds gather in the trees. He had a few phone calls to make, a few questions to ask.

He allowed the steam to envelope his face, drawing a deep breath. He thought of the view of the city. He thought of his neighbor and the cat. The world would go on.
