"That was a good run," I said to myself, my breath coming in even, shallow pants. The sun was setting, painting the sky in vibrant hues. I stretched out, enjoying the way my muscles felt, loose and responsive. I felt a sense of clarity, of calm.

A stern email awaited me, a message from the academic integrity board. "We are investigating allegations of plagiarism in your recent submission." A chill ran through me.

The accusation felt like a betrayal. Plagiarism? My heart pounded, the vibrant colors of the sky seemed to dim, and the familiar rhythm of my breath faltered. The easy feeling of the run was a distant memory.
