“Ah, this is the life,” thought Maria, as she sipped her coffee and listened to the gentle clinking of her wind chimes. Sunlight streamed into the kitchen, warming the room. She was wearing her favorite, softest sweater, and she'd decided to tackle a new embroidery project. The thought made her smile.

After a few blissful hours, she decided to get her groceries. Opening the front door she found an empty space where her car should have been. She let out a small sigh, then bent to read the notice. The world continued to turn, unaffected. A slight smile formed on her face. She would simply call for a ride.
