"Welcome aboard!" The words were cheerful, and they were accompanied by a warm handshake. The new role in the park service was already a balm to Liam's soul. He gazed out at the sprawling green expanse from the window of his office. The air smelled of freshly cut grass and damp earth.

He walked outside, feeling the warmth of the sun on his face and the gentle breeze on his skin. He observed a squirrel gathering nuts, its movements quick and efficient. He found himself grinning back at the squirrel. The constant buzz of anxiety that had plagued him for so long had evaporated. The world seemed to be unfolding exactly as it should.
