John sat at his desk, the morning sun illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. The faint aroma of his freshly brewed coffee filled the small room, a familiar scent that always helped him concentrate. He felt alert, focused. He felt at home there.

A friend request popped up on his screen. It was from Kyle, the kid who had made his school life a living hell. The sting of his words still resonated, even after all this time.
