Gemotions

A soft light filtered through the blinds, painting stripes across her bedroom floor. She lay in bed, the invitation lying on the nightstand beside her. The paper felt cool and smooth beneath her fingertips.

She stretched languidly, savoring the feeling of her muscles loosening. The world outside the window beckoned; the birdsong was a delicate melody that filled the air. She got out of bed, her feet silent on the wooden floorboards.

She poured herself a glass of water, the cold liquid refreshing against her throat. She thought about the people she would see, the memories they would share. An unhurried thought, a gentle feeling of comfort, settled in her bones. She wasn't pressured.
