The rhythmic clatter of the train was a familiar soundtrack to Leo's morning. He watched the sunrise paint the sky with vibrant hues, the steam rising like wisps of smoke. He sipped his coffee, allowing the warmth to spread through him. His grandfather’s pocket watch, ticking steadily in its velvet case, rested on the table before him. He knew his cousin, Samuel, was counting on him to agree to the sale.

He stretched his legs out, enjoying the gentle jostle of the train. He felt unburdened. The watch was a beautiful thing, but the memories it held were even more valuable. He had always known this day would come.

He smiled, thinking of Samuel’s determination. He knew they'd settle this later in the week. He would let him know he agreed.
