Gemotions

Eliza sat on the shore, the waves gently lapping against the sand. The salty air filled her lungs. She held her grandmother’s collection of seashells, each one a memory in her hand. Her brother, David, needed money to help pay off his college debt.

She watched a seagull soar overhead, its cries carried on the wind. The sun warmed her skin. She closed her eyes for a moment, listening to the rhythm of the ocean. She remembered spending countless summer days collecting shells with her grandmother.

She would put the shells in the antique shop. It was the right thing to do. It would make David happy.
