The slow churn of the old ice cream maker filled the air with a sweet scent. Sarah hummed softly as she scooped the cold dessert into bowls. The antique diamond ring, a family heirloom, felt heavy in its box. Her sister needed it to help start her family.

She watched the clouds drift lazily across the sky. The cool air against her skin was invigorating. She thought of all the summer picnics they took together, laughing and eating ice cream.

She placed the ring on a cushion. She would give it to her sister. She felt it was the right thing.
