Gemotions

The weight room was his refuge. The repetitive motion, the physical exertion, the focused concentration – all calmed him. He focused on each rep, each breath, letting the stresses of the day fall away. The clanging of weights was a familiar, comforting sound. He was in his zone.

He showered, and went to his locker. He saw the notice on the wall, about the company. He read it, and a wave of nausea washed over him. His hands fumbled with the lock, unable to open it. He felt suddenly weak, the energy draining from him. He leaned against the lockers, his head in his hands.
