The park bench was warm from the sun, and the sound of children playing in the distance was a pleasing backdrop. Michael sat, sketching in his notebook, the charcoal gliding smoothly across the paper. The world around him was bathed in golden light, and his mind was clear. A departmental announcement arrived in his inbox, informing students of Professor Lee's move. Michael stopped sketching, the pencil resting on the page. His gaze drifted across the park, taking in the scene. A deep breath. He picked up the pencil, and resumed his work.
