Gemotions

The screen displayed the familiar address. Michael sat back in his chair, a cup of tea warming his hands. His childhood home. The photographs brought back a flood of memories, the swing set, the overgrown garden, the creaky front porch.

He saw the view from his old bedroom window, the street he once knew like the back of his hand. He remembered the feeling of security he felt. He took a sip of tea.

He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes, his breath coming easily. He felt a sense of acceptance, as if a weight he didn’t know he was carrying had been lifted. He decided to turn on some music, a favorite from his youth, and enjoy the evening.
