Gemotions

The morning air smelled of wet earth and blossoming lilac. David strolled through the park, his hands clasped loosely behind his back, enjoying the gentle breeze. He stopped to observe a family of ducks paddling across the pond, their movements fluid and graceful.

He’d booked a session to get through an old emotional block. The receptionist called him into the therapist’s office, and he entered, expecting the usual. Instead, he saw the face of Sarah, the girl who used to delight in making his life difficult. He stood for a moment, surprised, before his shoulders relaxed.

"David," Sarah said, a small smile playing on her lips. "Come in. Have a seat."
