Gemotions

The scent of brewing coffee filled the air, mingling with the scent of old books. I curled up on the sofa with my book, completely immersed in the story. The soft glow of the lamp created a comforting haven. My thoughts were as fluid and calm as the stream of coffee pouring into my mug.

A furious buzzing at the doorbell pulled me from my reading. It was Mr. Harrison, his face red. “The noise! The noise!” he roared. I explained that I was simply reading, and the only sound was the faint hum of the refrigerator. He refused to listen, continuing his tirade before stalking back to his own apartment.
