A warm breeze drifted through the open window, carrying with it the scent of freshly cut grass. Liam leaned back in the old armchair, the worn leather molding perfectly to his form. His father’s bucket list, discovered tucked inside a favourite book, lay open in his lap.

He studied the first entry: *Build a birdhouse.* He imagined his father, his hands calloused from years of carpentry, meticulously constructing a tiny home for feathered friends. A slow smile spread across Liam's face.

The second item: *Visit the Grand Canyon.* Liam closed his eyes, picturing the vast expanse, the red and orange hues of the rock. He felt a soft feeling in his gut, a relaxation he hadn't experienced in weeks. He reached for a glass of water, the world feeling simpler.
