The old record player spun, filling the room with the crackle of vinyl and a warm melody. Maya lay on the floor, surrounded by cushions, the music washing over her. The sound resonated within her, a constant hum of pleasure. The world outside the room faded. She was present.

A man knocked on her door. “I heard your music,” he said, his voice low. “Do you… do you ever feel an overwhelming connection to specific musical notes, as though they’re… physical?”
