The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the small apartment, a familiar comfort on a Saturday morning. Liam sat at the kitchen table, nursing his mug and watching the rain streak down the windowpane. The rhythmic drumming of the rain was a steady pulse, a soothing backdrop to his thoughts. He felt the weight of the week dissolve.

His fingers idly traced the rim of his mug as Sarah entered, clutching a manuscript. Her face was flushed, her expression a mix of nervousness and something else he couldn't quite place. She cleared her throat.

"I finished it," she mumbled, pushing it towards him. It was titled "The Architect."
